Bitcoin NFT Review – Monster Satoshibles on Stacks

It’s late October and today, we’ve got some ghastly generations of the grandfather of Bitcoin. We’re taking a deep dive into Monster Satoshibles.

This NFT collection is a spinoff of Satoshibles, which I wrote extensively about earlier this year. These tokens are distinguished from all others on Stacks as they were the first set to successfully bridge between Ethereum and Bitcoin using StacksBridge. Holders are still moving Satoshibles between the two chains today.

The History of Monster Satoshibles

Who Created The Monster Satoshibles Bitcoin NFT Collection?

Lead artist is Ayyoub Bouzerda. Brian Laughlin, developer, designer and creator of Satoshibles. Aaron Hanson, developer, and Jarrod Douglas, community manager round out the rest of the team.

What do Monster Satoshibles Look Like?

These NFT’s augment the (alleged) image of Bitcoin Founder Satoshi Nakamoto that was used for the original Satoshibles, with features from various traditional icons of horror. These are algorithmically created using traits belonging to frankensteins, vampires, mummies and zombies. What results is thousands of images that are a pastiche of Yakamoto along with bits and pieces of these creatures.

Let’s take the above token, Monster Satoshible #2841 as an example. Here we have bits and pieces of four distinct beasts; Frankenstein body and suit, Lagoon ears, werewolf eyes and zombie head.

So, every holder gets a scary movie jigsaw puzzle, right? Not so fast, my friend.

“Not your keys, not your coins” has never been more true. A hardware wallet is essential. Keeping your crypto tokens on an exchange exposes your assets to potential loss and theft. Ledger makes accessing your NFT’s and your crypto safe and easy.

Do Monster Satoshibles Have Any Cool Features?

You bet your Nightmare on Elm Street VHS collection it does. Holders of the anywhere from 2-4 NFT’s with the same monster traits across four attributes (head, eyes, mouth and body) can burn those NFT’s to create a Prime Monster.

How to Build a Prime Monster Satoshible

To build a Prime Monster, you need to hold an original Satoshible. Next, acquire 2-4 NFT’s with the above four attributes belonging to any one creature. When you are ready to burn the NFT’s, you will get a completed Prime Monster with an individualized comic-book styled background. Each Prime Monster created is the result of the burning of multiple tokens. You can check out this handy video that walks you through the process:

This reduces the overall supply of Monster Satoshibles and presents a deflationary long-term trend for the collection.

There are also 25 “perfect skeletons” that can not be burned along with a 1-of-1 token. Finally 20 holders will share in a prize pool of over 6 ETH.

Are Bitcoin NFT’s a Good Investment?

Stacks, the underlying blockchain of the Monster Satoshibles Bitcoin NFT

While none of this is to be construed as financial advice (please see the website disclaimer), anyone who reads this blog or follows my Twitter already knows that I am very bullish on the outlook for Stacks cryptocurrency, the underlying blockchain for Satoshibles Bitcoin NFT’s.

NFT’s on Stacks are absolutely exploding since their debut in 2021. In addition to their recent listing on Coinbase, the Stacks ecosystem is best represented on OKCoin, where you can get exposure to StacksArkadiko Financeand CityCoins like MiamiCoin and NYCCoin. Stacks is the protocol that brings d’Apps, NFT’s and Ethereum-like utility to Bitcoin. I am a believer that any exposure to Stacks comes with tremendous future upside potential. So, while everyone should do their own research before investing in any NFT or cryptocurrency, I think the future of most NFT projects on Stacks hold considerable promise.
